Youth Development Director
Overview
Develop, organize and implement high quality Out of School time programs. These programs include After School Programs, full day Summer Camp, 4-year-old Wraparound Care and oversight of Sugar Plum Preschool. The Youth Development Director ensures focus on programming that promotes healthy living, social responsibility and youth development with a nurtured approach. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

Responsible For
- Direct and supervise program activities to meet the requirements for licensure, needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule and direct personnel and volunteers as needed. Review and evaluate staff performance. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Establish new program activities and expand program within the community.
- Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Organize and schedule program registrations.
- Review and process program scholarship applications.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Coordinate use of facilities for program activities and events with Program Directors.
- Assist in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
- Model relationship-building skills and Nurtured Heart in all interactions. Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
- Compile program statistics. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
- Oversight of collections.
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
- Minimum age requirement of 21.

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education, youth development or related field, preferred.
- Multiple years of related experience preferred and previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Blood borne Pathogens.
